Story 7 – Searching for Something New

Lately, the job search has felt like an uphill climb. It seems there are so many talented people out there that employers have their pick of the bunch. I often feel like just one tiny ant in a vast anthill — moving steadily, doing my part, but easily overlooked in the crowd.

My days have taken on a calm, predictable rhythm. I wake up, walk the dog, make coffee for everyone, then log on to submit resumes. I carve out time for research and learning, throw in a load of laundry, maybe cook or grab lunch. Later, it’s the gym, dinner, a shower, and then the cycle begins again the next day.

On the surface, it might sound monotonous — even a little bleak. But there’s a quiet comfort in the routine. I’ve been trying to find joy in these ordinary moments. Still, there’s a part of me that longs to be useful again, to contribute, to build something meaningful. That’s the piece I’m missing.

Through it all, I pray, reflect, and try to stay open with gratitude. Here’s to hoping the new year brings some good surprises.
