After losing my Dad, my Mom has been in deep mourning. As my brother states, she is a true ride or die. Towards the end of his life and due to his pain, he was not pleasant to my Mom. She was frustrated, hurt and lonely as his caregiver but after his death, she forgot all those times. She only remembers the good times, the times that he made her feel special and loved. I envy her for that. She is mourning her soulmate, her college boyfriend, her husband and her best friend.

It’s been a while. I lost a special person, my dad. He is no longer in pain, physically and emotionally but my mom is now suffering. I hope she realizes that life is beautiful. Her children are surrounding her with love and patience. My dad needs to let her know she deserves to be here, in her dreams.

He was tough but he was always there. He was my mom’s lifelong partner. In his life, he was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a father-in-law, a grandfather, an uncle, a friend, a provider, a challenger and a protector.
